History

The story of EVIDENCE Clinical and Pharmaceutical Research, LLC is a story of success build through leadership, innovation, hard work, and perseverance.  EVIDENCE made its beginning in 1989, when only a handful of Eastern European medical professionals had been exposed to randomized controlled clinical trials.  One of them was Dr. Varshavsky, a St. Petersburg cardiologist, who was invited by the European Myocardial Infarction Project (EMIP) to serve as National Coordinator for Russia on a clinical trial sponsored by the European Union. This experience convinced Dr. Varshavsky and his colleagues that the time had come for Russia to adopt the Good Clinical Practice standards.

The small group of dedicated professionals began working on implementing international industry standards in Russia, and their efforts paid off in 1990, when the Guideline for Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and   ICH Harmonized Tripartite Guideline were translated into Russian language and introduced to regulators, and medical professionals.  EVIDENCE became the first CRO to conduct clinical trial research to GCP standards in Russia, and later in Ukraine, and Georgia; and the first CRO to conduct a multinational clinical study in Russia.

Over the next decade the clinical trials market in Russia and Eastern Europe expanded due to consistently high recruitment rates, excellent data quality and competitive cost. Global pharmaceutical companies took note, and EVIDENCE grew with the demand.

Today EVIDENCE continues to lead the field in the Russian Federation, and the Commonwealth of Independent States, and has established a solid presence in Eastern Europe. Our Head Quarters in Los Altos, California and our regional offices in Russia and CIS employ almost 300 professionals. All our offices are connected by an advanced internal communication infrastructure, and are equipped with sophisticated data storage system.  Our regional offices together with our established network of local monitors, coordinators, CRAs and collaborative partners throughout Eastern Europe, position EVIDENCE to conduct complex multinational clinical trials to the highest professional standards, and to attract dedicated and experienced staff.
